Report on the 3rd Field Workshop
The 3rd Field Workshop
Dates: September 5 to 8, 2009
Venue: International Coral Reef Research and Monitoring Center, WWF Coral Reef Conservation and Research Center
Held on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, the 3rd Field Workshop featured the activities of the residential research institutions, residential researchers and stakeholders working for the conservation of coral reef and the management of fishery resources in the field. The workshop also included reports and discussions on different field studies in different localities focusing on the production and utilization of knowledge by residential researchers in local government, interactions between indigenous knowledge and scientific knowledge, and the utilization of ecotourism by stakeholders.
